Do you have settling in periods or does my child just start once enrolled?
We have a very flexible settling in procedure.
As every family is unique, the settling in is tailored to each child’s needs.
The first settle in day you will come with your child for 1 hour.
During this time, you can meet the staff, see how the room flows, watch your child interact with others, and complete a personal care plan.
The second settle day, your child can come for 2 hours.
You can choose to stay for a short time and when comfortable you can leave your child to play.
You can organise further settling in periods with the room senior of your child’s room.
What should I bring to nursery for my child?
A change of clothes is a good idea.
Your child will have a peg or tray to store any belongings.
Bibs for babies and hats and gloves for the cold weather, sun cream and sun hat for summer. The nursery will provide waterproof suits for outdoor play; parents should provide a pair of wellingtons boots.
My child is allergic to some foods, how will I know he will be safe?
When your child starts, we will ask you to complete a personal care plan.
In this plan you detail all your child’s likes/dislikes and preferences.
Any allergies are recorded here too. If your child has any intolerances, allergies or special diet to follow, your child’s food will be labelled clearly with their name and allergens.
How am I kept informed of my child’s day and learning and development?
We always give informal daily feedback about your child’s day when you collect your child. Also, all children have learning journals, where parents can access their child’s profile.
