Nurseries

Our vision at Somerset Nursery is to provide a place where children can enjoy a safe, nurturing and happy learning environment where their personal achievement and development is supported and encouraged by caring and nurturing staff. We strive to deliver a programme which provides opportunities to develop children’s wellbeing, communication, curiosity and creativity.

We have three separate locations to choose from, depending on the age and stage of your child.

Fitzroy

Ages 0-3

At Fitzroy Place, we offer free extended settling in sessions for all children, which we base on the needs of the child and the requirements of the parents. Our vision is to ensure we have happy, engaged, confident, curious, creative, independent, resilient, and empathetic children. We are able to do this as we offer an environment which is supportive, responsive, and sensitive to the needs of our families.  The staff at Fitzroy Place focus on the care and development of each child as the unique individuals they are.

Parkgrove

Ages 0-5

Parkgrove is based directly across from Kelvingrove Park in the West End.

It’s position ensures it is convenient for Glasgow University, The City Centre and West End.

The nursery caters for children between birth and 5 years. The nursery is situated over two levels and has a strong focus on both the Pre Birth to Three and the Curriculum for Excellence.

Staff and children access the park daily to explore the world around them, giving children access to fresh air and daily exercise. The children enjoy planting, growing and eating their own potatoes, vegetables and fruit. The nursery has been awarded a Sliver Eco Flag and are working to achieve their Green Flag. The nursery is a Smile Friendly nursery promoting nursery, with a strong focus on Oral Health daily.

Don’t just take our word for it

“We are delighted we chose Somerset Nursery as our nursery! Our daughter attends nursery full time, and so it was really important to find a nursery where she is happy and cared for, and Somerset definitely meets these requirements. The staff take such good care of her, and her development since she started in August has been incredible to watch.”
